This set is non-handed, meaning it can be used left or right handed. Simply rotate the handle to your required handing.
This set of door handles is sprung (ie. the door handle springs return the handle to the horizontal position) This is a great feature, and can help door locks that have broken or weak latch springs. The spring cassettes are fitted on to the spindle and sit into each side of the door handle.
Common Problems With Hoppe Door Handles
A common problem with the old version of these door handles, is the handle lever becoming loose. Giving you the impression that the handle lever will break off in your hand. On the old version, there is a plastic washer which is used as a bearing at the back of the lever. Over time this plastic washer cracks and falls into pieces, causing the lever to become loose. If left like this, the lever will eventually break off.
The new version Hoppe London door handles have steel washers that cover over the plastic washers. This will prevent the handle lever from becoming loose. We stock the new version only.
